Child and Teen Solutions is located in Madison Park, a charming lakeside neighborhood in Seattle, Washington (near the 520 Bridge). Madison Park is a family-friendly spot with fun shops, boutiques, restaurants, and parks. There is even plenty of free parking! Whether you’re waiting for your child or teen to finish their appointment or you want options to visit after parent coaching session, there are lots of choices within a short walk of our office. 

Kid-Friendly Coffee Shops and Restaurants

For a quick stop on the way to an appointment, enjoy barista drinks and freshly baked scones from Madison Kitchen. They also have a great selection of cookies, sandwiches, and salads. Madison Kitchen is right next door to our entrance. For Starbucks aficionados, there is a large store just up the street. The Madison Park Starbucks has comfy armchairs as well as ample surfaces for parents looking for a place to set up a workstation during appointments.  

Cactus Southwest Kitchen is steps away from our office. They have an expansive kids’ menu and creative drinks. The restaurant has a large outdoor seating section with plenty of heaters, making it comfortable even on chilly Seattle days.

Madison Park hosts a large playground, across the street from Child and Teen Solutions for some physical activities. Just a few more steps and you’ll find a large, sandy swimming beach with views of Mount Rainier. Bring your floaties and sand castle supplies! Scoop du Jour Ice Creamery, which has been around for over 40 years, is a neighborhood favorite. They make their own waffle cones and serve classic ice cream flavors. 

Shops

Madison Books is one of Seattle’s few remaining brick-and-mortar bookstores. Check out their staff favorites for inspiration. Red Wagon Toys has a great selection of unique toys, including Lego and Jellycat collections.  Cookin’ at Madison Park has a vast selection of kitchen supplies, and is also fun just for window shopping. For health-related products and gifts, Madison Park Pharmacy and Wellness Center is located just downstairs from our office. 

Self-Care

Madison Park also hosts several places to get pampered. Spa Jolie is a day spa that offers services such as manicures and facials. Park Salon offers hair care and skincare services. For parents looking to squeeze in some exercise, the area offers great places for walking or running. Lake Washington Boulevard is a flat and picturesque route along the lake, ending at Seward Park. A short drive away, Washington Park Arboretum offers quiet trails and botanical gardens.

Errands Made Easy

Park Postal in Madison Park is a great place to take care of mail-related errands, and there are usually no lines. For wine shopping, Madison Cellars and Parlour Wines are small shops with curated selections. 

Last Minute Grocery Stops

Burt's Red Apple is a small grocery store amidst the shops that has all of the basics. For meal kits and gourmet heat-and-eat entrees, you’ll find Kitchen & Market as you head west out of Madison Park. They carry delicious fresh pastas from Tavolata, Trophy Cupcakes, and housemade rice krispie treats with sprinkles.

Pets

No need to leave your dog in the car! Madison Park is a dog-friendly neighborhood with lots of great sniff spots for your canine family members. If your dog needs the freedom to run, Genesee Park has a popular off-leash dog area. The park is about a 15-minute scenic drive from Madison Park. 

Make it a Date Night

For parents visiting our offices in the early evening, consider making it a date night. Ethan Stowell’s How To Cook a Wolf is just across the street. In nearby Madison Valley, Cafe Flora offers delicious vegetarian cuisine in a garden-like atmosphere. In the warmer months, the outdoor patio is a hidden treasure. For a more casual option, The Attic in Madison Park is a cozy pub that features local brews. They also host a free trivia night every Tuesday at 7 pm.

Child and Teen Solutions is a mental health clinic that serves children and teens in Seattle, Washington. Our team includes licensed psychologists and therapists. We have a focus on working with neurodivergent youngsters and their parents. We also specialize in anxiety treatment, acting-out behaviors, and emotion dysregulation

Other Mental Health Services Provided by Child and Teen Solutions

CATS is here to support you and your family through various services designed to address the unique needs of each family. In addition to helping you build confidence as a parent with parent coaching, we also offer services to young individuals who can help with self-regulation, ADHD, autism/ PDA, emotion regulation, defiance, or anxiety. We also offer Theraplay to families of young children who are looking to have sessions together with their children. For youngsters who are interested in working directly with a therapist, we encourage you to read our child and teen service pages. In some cases, the therapist who is working with you for parenting can eventually shift to focusing on working with your child. Alternatively, it can sometimes be best to assign a separate CATS provider to the child or teen who is seeking their own therapist. We also offer neurodevelopmental evaluations when more information about a child’s or teen’s developmental and learning profile would be helpful. We work with a wide range of family constellations and identities, and all of our services are LGBTQ+ Affirming.
