Online therapy is provided on a confidential video communications platform that can be accessed from any device. There is research supporting the use of online therapy as an effective alternative to office visits. Anxiety, mood disorders, sleep problems, trauma, and eating disorders are among the problems that can be addressed using video sessions. Parenting skills can also be taught using the online platform.

Every effort is made to provide a welcoming experience that minimizes the potential awkwardness of meeting a therapist for the first time online. We find that for young children, online therapy with the parents is a productive avenue for targeting child issues. For elementary school aged children, sessions held jointly with the parents maximizes the effectiveness of online therapy.

Most teens readily adapt to the virtual format of online therapy. Teens have a knack for finding ways to enjoy privacy while they meet with their therapist (for example, by sitting in the car while using their mobile device). As with in-person sessions, parents may be involved in the teen’s therapy on an as needed basis.
