Mission, Vision & Values
Mission:
At Child and Teen Solutions, we believe that the family is a child's most powerful resource of support. Our mission is to tap into and build on the family's existing strengths in order promote sustained mental health gains for the child or teen. With the decline in mental health among children and teens over the last decade, we need to look beyond individual therapy for young people and help shape the influences surrounding them. Whether a young child on a risky developmental trajectory or a young adult who is struggling to launch, we aim to empower families to positively reroute the paths of their distressed loved ones.
Vision:
Our young people and their families are in a state of crisis, with not enough mental health resources to go around. At Child and Teen Solutions, we are committed to bringing more providers into the workforce to better meet the needs of our community. We provide a dynamic learning community with a strong mentorship culture. Through our commitment to training and education, we support early career clinicians in attaining excellence in their skills and service delivery.
Values:
Professional Integrity: We provide jobs for clinicians where they are supported to do their best work, get paid fairly, and have adequate resources for themselves and their families. We value direct feedback to each other in the context of a deeply respectful and supportive communication style.
Professional Excellence: Our clinicians go above and beyond to continually strive for the highest quality of service delivery. Our team meets twice monthly to learn about and discuss best practices, research articles, and ethical dilemmas. We believe that ongoing collaborations in learning with other providers in the community support our growth as professionals. We regularly invite guest speakers to share their expertise with our team, and open these free educational events to other mental health professionals in our community.
Customer Service: Families deserve the full spectrum of excellent care, including but not limited to: prompt responses to communications, a compassionate and deeply respectful style of communication from all of our staff, and the provision of thoughtful comforts in our office environment. We continually aim for our clients to feel nurtured by and important to us.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We celebrate the diversity of our team, clients, and community. We aim to offer culturally sensitive care that embraces the unique identities of our clients and families.
Transparent and Compassionate Communication: In order to maximize trust and nurture therapeutic relationships, we value direct and compassionate communication with families. Transparent communication is essential to maximizing outcomes in the evaluation and treatment process.
Strong Communications with Other Providers: As appropriate, we initiate collaboration and communication with referring and other involved providers.
Excellence in Written Products: When the service involves a written product, we aim to provide a document that is clearly written, is as brief as possible, and includes minimal jargon. Written products should function as a tool that the family and other providers can readily refer to as a resource to understand and advocate for the child.
